MI Makeup Academy is based in Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire, with easy access from Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield and Leeds.

Arrive with clean skin where possible and avoid heavy skincare immediately before your appointment. We’ll take care of the skin preparation as part of your service.

Absolutely. Inspiration images are always welcome and are a great way for us to understand the overall look you’re wanting.

Yes. Your makeup will be tailored around your features, preferences and the occasion you’re attending.

Our standard Glam Makeup appointment is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. More technical/creative appointments allow additional time.

Your makeup is professionally applied with longevity in mind. Wear time will naturally vary depending on your skin, the weather, activity and the products you use afterwards.

Our courses are suitable for people at different stages, including those beginning their professional makeup journey. Your chosen course will outline any specific requirements.

Yes. MI offers accredited professional makeup courses. Our courses are accredited by The Beauty Guild.

Our courses cover professional makeup application alongside areas such as skin preparation, complexion, eyes, colour, lashes, different skin types and textures, hygiene, client care and professional practice.
Depending on your course, you’ll also develop knowledge around business, branding, content creation, social media and marketing.

No, you are welcome to bring your own model along or we can arrange one at an extra fee.

You’ll have access to professional makeup products and equipment during your training. Any specific kit requirements will be explained before your course.

MAKEUP LESSONS

Our lessons are suitable for anyone wanting to improve their makeup skills, from learning your own face to developing professional makeup artistry techniques.

Yes. Lessons are personalised around your goals, experience and the techniques you’d like to develop

Absolutely especially If you’re learning your own face, bringing products you already own can be particularly useful as we can work out what works for you and what doesn’t.

Models can be arranged for applicable lessons at an additional cost. Details will be provided when booking.

Yes. Our Learn Over Time packages allow you to complete multiple looks across a period of time, with sessions available once or twice a week.

It’s designed for makeup artists who want to develop their artistry while also working on their content, social media, branding and business

The MI Training Day runs from 9:30am–4pm

The Training Day focuses on one complete makeup look, allowing us to spend meaningful time developing your technique rather than rushing through multiple looks.

No. A model isn’t included in the Training Day, but model hire can be arranged separately if required.

Your day can include social media auditing, content creation, filming, photography, branding, marketing, business development and goal setting.

Not necessarily. The Training Day is designed around artists at different stages, although some previous makeup experience is beneficial.
MI TRAINING DAY
BOOKING & POLICIES

You can book makeup appointments directly through our online booking system.
Training, courses and other education experiences can be booked/enquired about through their individual pages.

A retainer is required to secure certain bookings. The amount and terms depend on the service you’ve booked.

No, all retainers are none refundable.

For all courses lessons and training days, you can change the date once for free. Any further changes incur a fee. We require at least a month’s notice for date changes.For makeup appointments, if you change your date you loose your retainer fee and have to pay another for the new date.

Courses, Lessons & Training Days
We require a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice for cancellations to receive a full refund.
Cancellations made with less than 3 weeks’ notice will be eligible for a 50% refund only.
Makeup Appointments
We operate a 72-hour cancellation policy for all makeup appointments.
Cancellations made more than 72 hours before your appointment will result in the loss of your retainer only.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of your appointment will be charged the full remaining balance.
Please note that retainers are non-refundable.

Please arrive on time for your appointment or training. Late arrival may reduce the time available for your service and, depending on the circumstances, may affect the appointment with full payment still required.

In the unlikely event that we need to rearrange your booking, we’ll contact you as soon as possible and discuss the available options.
