ABOUT MI MAKEUP ACADEMY

MORE THAN JUST MAKEUP. IT’S WHERE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS.

MI Makeup Academy was created with one simple belief:

You don’t just need to learn how to do makeup. You need to learn how to become a makeup artist.

Founded by professional makeup artist and educator Molly Iles, MI Makeup Academy was created to provide a different kind of makeup education, personal, practical and focused on developing artists who are confident enough to take their skills into the real world.

Based in South Yorkshire, MI offers everything from private makeup lessons and intensive training days to accredited professional courses designed to help aspiring and established artists grow.

MEET MOLLY

THE ARTIST BEHIND MI

With over 12 years of experience within the beauty industry, Molly has worked across makeup artistry, bridal, clients, education, content creation and brand collaborations.

After years of working within the industry, she recognised that becoming a great makeup artist requires more than learning a few techniques.

It’s about understanding why you’re doing something.

It’s knowing how to work with different skin types, tones and textures.

It’s having the confidence to adapt your technique to every face that sits in your chair.

And it’s understanding how to build a career around your skills.

That’s what inspired Molly to create MI Makeup Academy in 2021.

“I wanted to create the kind of makeup education I would have wanted when I was starting out.”

THE MI APPROACH

WE TEACH YOU TO THINK LIKE A MAKEUP ARTIST.

At MI, we don’t believe in teaching one signature makeup style and expecting every artist to recreate it.

Instead, we teach you the foundations that allow you to become versatile, adaptable and confident.

You’ll learn how to understand the face in front of you, make informed product choices and adapt your techniques to create beautiful makeup across different people, skin types, tones and textures.

Because being a professional makeup artist isn’t about being able to recreate one look.

It’s about knowing what to do when every client is different.

MORE THAN THE MAKEUP

YOUR SKILLS ARE ONLY THE START.

We believe professional makeup education should prepare you for more than the makeup chair.

That’s why our training goes beyond brushes and products.

Depending on your chosen course or experience, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge around:

MAKEUP
Technique, complexion, eyes, colour, skin preparation and working across different skin types and textures.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
Client consultations, hygiene, kit organisation, professionalism and creating an exceptional client experience.

CONTENT
Filming, photography, editing and learning how to showcase your work online.

BRANDING
Building a professional identity and creating a brand that represents the artist you want to become.

BUSINESS
Pricing, marketing, attracting clients and understanding the foundations of running your own makeup business.

We want you to leave MI not only knowing how to create beautiful makeup, but understanding how to build something from it.

WHY CHOOSE MI?
